Georgina Hurcombe attends Women in Business 2018 launch event as a panelist

2017 was a great year for LoveLove and its managing director, Georgina Hurcombe, as she took home Business Owner of the Year at the Women in Business Awards 2017 as well as Entrepreneur of the Year at the Venus Awards, as well as being voted one of Insider’s 42 under 42, where they identify 42 of the South West’s finest entrepreneurs and business leaders under the age of – that’s right – 42.

Women in Business is an initiative that sets out to celebrate, encourage and inspire successful and aspiring businesswomen in the UK. Women in Business has grown into more than just an awards event, it has become a campaign that celebrates and spotlights organisations and individuals across all sectors of business who have excelled in their specific business, profession or organisation.

The Woman in Business Awards’ Business Owner of the Year award is to support entrepreneurial women who have founded and run their own company; women who have shown exceptional abilities in mentoring other women and women who have helped their business achieve significant results in the past year.

Women in Business recently held their 2018 Awards launch event sponsored by Barclays Bank and hosted by Tamsin Napier-Munn, the campaign manager for The Business Magazine and head of the Women in Business Campaign. She proclaimed that leadership and inclusion is the theme of this year’s Women in Business awards. Hoping to continue the progress that has been made to celebrate, encourage and inspire women working in Business.

Tamsin also stated: “Haven’t we come a long way in 100 years? The extraordinary sacrifices that were made by so many brave women – and men for that matter, in order that we as women in the UK could live a life of freedom, opportunity, and fairness.”

Last year, Georgina Hurcombe was thrilled and honoured to announced as the winner of The Business Owner of the Year Award.

On winning the award, Georgina Hurcombe said: “I am honoured to have won the Business Owner of the Year 2017 award. It is great that the Women in Business awards support entrepreneurial woman business owners and the fantastic things women are doing. It was lovely to get to meet so many interesting and inspiring women!”

After winning the award Georgina was then invited to Women in Business’ launch event for their 2018 to talk more about what the award has done for her. Georgina states: “It was great to have the accreditation. I’ve had international clients say they’d heard I’d won. It’s been great for PR and has inspired my team.”

Winning the award has had a massive impact in enhancing the profile and reputation of Georgina and LoveLove Films. And now, in 2018, Georgina hopes to encourage more women in business and entrepreneurship.
