From Formula One to Awards Won and Hiking Fun – LoveLove Films’ Great Year So Far!
LoveLove Films have been having a busy 2017! From creating all the graphics for a BBC Films F1 feature film to producing a documentary for Sky, creating TV graphics, TV adverts and so much more. Each month has seen exciting new landmarks for the company. We’ve done so much that it would be impossible to fit everything into this article; so instead, here are some of the highlights of the year so far.
We started the year in brilliant style, producing from concept to completion a documentary titled ‘Martin Clunes: Riding Therapy’ which aired on Sky. The documentary follows a group of students who live and study at the Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy (FCRT). The centre, situated in the New Forest, is a specialist-learning centre for young people with learning difficulties who use their passion for horses as the basis of their specialised curriculum. ‘Doc Martin’ and ‘Men Behaving Badly’ star, Martin Clunes, who is an extremely keen horseman and president of the BHS (British Horse Society), fronts the documentary, which sees him interact with several students and even at one point participate in horse vaulting. LoveLove Films were delighted when Minnow Films commissioned us to create the entirety of the graphics for the upcoming BBC Films feature Williams, which charts the story of Formula One’s most celebrated family. Williams is a brand-new feature documentary from BAFTA-winning director Morgan Matthews that tells the story of Frank Williams’ rise to fame and how his family battled to keep him alive and the team afloat after the crash that left Frank wheelchair-bound for the rest of his life. LoveLove Films were tasked with creating the graphics, which are featured on 25% of the film, this included animating 56 archive photos as well as creating and animating the titles, captions and subtitles. We created highly-inventive stop-motion style graphics for the Channel 4 science-entertainment documentary ‘The Super Orgasm’. The programme examined the mysterious science of the female orgasm, probing into ground-breaking new scientific research involving an unusual phenomenon known as the ‘Super Orgasm’.

LoveLove were thrilled when our short animated film ‘We Save Land’ won the Main Prize – Children and Youth – Prize of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic at the Ekotopfilm / Envirofilm Awards 2017.

We produced Cycling UK’s latest TV advert for Bike Week, an annual opportunity that promotes the fun and freedom of cycling. The advert is a combination of live-action footage shot in front of a green screen mixed with 2D animation. LoveLove Films put up a casting call for contributors on our social media page, which reached over 61,000 people organically!
LoveLove Films made waves with ‘Coastwise’, a quirky animated song commissioned by Dorset Coastal Forum and Safewise designed to instill in children an appreciation for staying safe on the coast. The film was unveiled to key partners and schoolchildren at a launch event in June before being put online. At the time of writing, the film has over 32,000 views!
In July, after months of fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support and a slight attempt at training, the LoveLove Films team were finally faced with the challenge of hiking a marathon of 23.5 miles across the Jurassic Coast. We made it!

This year, we have also produced a range of corporate content; a live action video for virtual assistant company Worldwide 101, a character led animation for Reed Exhibitions and a stunning motion graphics event video for leading fabric manufacturer Heathcoat Fabrics.
Our managing director Georgina Hurcombe has had a particularly great year so far. Towards the beginning of the year, Georgina was featured in The Guardian as part of their ‘Letter to my younger self’ series. She was also featured in Virgin Media Pioneers and the Bournemouth Echo before going on to being voted one of Insider’s 42 under 42, where they identify 42 of the South West’s finest entrepreneurs and business leaders under the age of – that’s right – 42, and has also been named a Venus Awards ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ Semi-Finalist.

This year at LoveLove Films, we have also been working hard developing a children’s preschool animated show called ‘Bottle Island’ that we are particularly excited about! The show is a look at the lives of a group of quirky friends as they work together to try and save their island from the rubbish that washes up on the shore by positively managing and recycling the waste, protecting the island from being overwhelmed by junk and taking care of their environment.
We are looking forwards for what’s to come over the rest of the year. We are working on a variety of projects, from TV adverts and graphics to character based animations and an array of corporate videos.
