Last night LoveLove Films’ MD and Dorset Business Awards finalist Georgina Hurcombe went along (with LoveLove Films’ In House Writer Maxim Sorokopud as her plus one) to the Meet the Finalists evening event.

For several highly enjoyable hours Georgina and Maxim had the opportunity to eat Canapes, have a glass of wine and meet and chat with all of this year’s finalists and the sponsors of each category. Shortly after arriving they met with their sponsors Neil Lewis and Rob Jones at Barclays and with the other nominees in Dorset Businesswoman category, Jo Cruickshanks and Maria Leese, and engaged in photo opportunities (including one very entertaining Movember themed picture.)

The rest of the night was spent talking to everyone else in attendance. Good conversation was had with many people, including Ross Thornley and Karen Heldorn at RT, Mark Painter at Bournemouth University and especially the outgoing Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Peter Scott, who regaled us with stories of his career in the Textile industry and at the Arts University of Bournemouth.

The final Awards Gala takes place on the 28th November, just over a week from now.
