A Champagne Networking Breakfast with a Twist! (Part 1)

Our MD Georgina Hurcombe is very much looking forward to competing in the 2014 Clipper Race Regatta Day at Portsmouth this Friday the 26th September. Georgina was invited to this corporate networking and sailing event by Ollie Phillips who is a former England rugby player and ambassador of Clipper who joined the Great British Clipper Racing team in a race around the world.

The LoveLove films team were in fits of laughter as Georgie didn’t read the initial invite from Ollie Phillips correctly and thought she was attending a Champagne networking breakfast.

It was only after team member Maxim started filling out next of kin forms that Georgie was told she would be going racing. (Georgie in the past has ‘fed Dolphins’ on several occasions whilst on boats – you get the picture).

Despite her fear of becoming seasick, she’s excited to meet her racing team and get stuck in to learning how to gybe, race and grasp this clipper sailing introduction, which will hopefully help her team to win.

She’ll also be meeting Sir Robin Knox-Johnston who is an English sailor who became the first man to preform a single handed non-stop circumnavigation of the globe, and was the second winner of the Jules Verne Trophy. He also became the oldest yachtsman to complete a round the world solo voyage in the Velux 5 Oceans Race.

But aside from all the

excitement, she simply cannot wait for the well-deserved glass of champagne !
