LoveLove Films were thrilled when we were commissioned to produce the latest animated mixed media TV Advert for Royal Windsor Racecourse!

Royal Windsor Racecourse is a horse-racing venue located in Windsor, Berkshire, England. Set in 165 acres of stunning Berkshire countryside, on the River Thames and in the shadow of Windsor Castle.

LoveLove Films were approached by Royal Windsor Racecourse with an open brief to produce an upbeat, colourful and memorable 30 second TV advert that would encourage viewers to visit the racecourse on one of their incredible events over the year.

Royal Windsor Racecourse wanted a TV advert made from their existing assets, however they had no footage but a number of high res stills and we didn’t think full animation would be fitting. Finding a solution, LoveLove Films pitched the idea of a TV advert made up of stunning parallax archive imagery blended together smoothly via a double exposure animation technique, showcasing the glamorous and quintessentially British racecourse in all its glory as bold splashes of colour pop throughout.

The bold splashes of colour were created in the LoveLove Films studio practically by our animation team and captured in stunning 4K to get a more realistic result as opposed to animating the ink splashes.

On creating the ink splashes, LoveLove Animator Dale said; “It’s always good to use different techniques in animation and in this case it was to get a more realistic result as opposed to using CGI to create the ink splashes. We heightened the colours in post production and it really does make the advert pop!”

The animation team created the animation by combining the photo assets with 3D projection mapping, which then allowed us to rotate the camera, creating an illusion of movement .

Royal Windsor Racecourse were thrilled with the final advert, which aired on ITV VOD from 30^th April 2018.
