On Saturday 8^th July, the LoveLove Films team will be supporting Macmillan Cancer Support by hiking across the Jurassic Coast, starting in Weymouth and finishing on the Isle of Purbeck. The route is approximately 22.7 miles with a total elevation of 1,145 metres or 3,757 feet.

Since 1911, Macmillan has provided support and help for patients, carers, families and communities affected by cancer. Almost 1000 people a day hear the news that they have cancer. A quarter of them will have no support from family and friends. This isolation and loneliness is a major issue for many people coping with cancer and Macmillan are determined to provide the needed support and work tirelessly to raise funds and awareness.

LoveLove Films’ Managing Director Georgina Hurcombe, Production Co-ordinator Faith Glenister and Writer Oliver Selby are fundraising for Macmillan by taking part in the long Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike.

Anyone that knows the LoveLove Films team knows that we are not the most athletic team in the world, and are partial to a great amount of cake and biscuits. Unfortunately, the event organisers are unable to accommodate dogs, so Snowy will be sitting out of this one.

The hike will start in waves of 200 hikers, 30 minutes apart, between 7:00am and 10:00am with an estimation that the fastest walkers will finish in 7.5 hours while the slowest could take around 12.5 hours.

Georgina, Faith and Oliver have already started their strict(ish) training regimes, using the spin bike in our studio as well as walking to work and going on team practice hikes.

We are looking forward to making the most of this incredible experience. We enjoy getting out in the great outdoors and knowing that we’ll be helping to change lives as we do it is great!
