LoveLove celebrate winning at DBA!

The Bournemouth International Centre was alive with excitement last night, as it played host to the 21st annual Dorset Business Awards. As the expectant crowd of over 700 guests gathered, anxiously waiting for their name to be read out, it was LoveLove Films who emerged victorious in their category and scooped the prestigious Voip Unlimited Engagement with Education Award 2015!

The sparkly dresses and tuxedos were out in full force at the Hollywood-inspired event, which was hosted by renowned BBC journalist Jonty Bloom, and saw a record number of entries all vying to be crowned a winner in one of the 11 categories.

As you can see, LoveLove’s own Georgina Hurcombe and Tom Suddrey are absolutely thrilled to have been given this award, that recognises the company’s hard work in providing local young people with the opportunity to gain industry experience and improve their professional skill-set. We understand the challenges they face in getting on the career ladder and as a consequence, our aim has always been to offer them a stimulating and creative experience in the professional industry of multimedia production.

We would like to send a massive LoveLove thank you to everyone at the Dorset Chamber, Voip Unlimited, the local educational institutions who we work so closely with, and most importantly to all the young people who we have met (and hopefully inspired) along the way.

Of course it’s important to also mention our fellow finalists, Hixsons and the Teachers Building Society, who do some fantastic work engaging with education across the region; the local young people who have benefited so much from all this great work are the real winners here!

Part of the ethos here at LoveLove is to use our knowledge as industry leaders in the field of production to help develop and nurture all the amazing local talent, so that future generations are able to continue making Dorset such a thriving place to live and work.

Our successful placement scheme, which takes between 25-30 placements every year, will continue into 2016, as will all our ties with local schools and universities, including Bournemouth University, Arts University Bournemouth, Bourne Academy and many more. We will also be running numerous creative workshops at various locations across the region, so make sure you keep an eye out!

So as the champagne glasses run dry and we reflect on what was a fantastic night, we are already looking forward to next year and doing our bit to encourage young people to get involved in the industry and to go out and chase their dreams!
